The life of an ant

KIa ora,

Today I have been writing haiku. A haiku is a Japanese poem that has three lines. It has five                                          syllables in the first and third lines. It has seven syllables in the second line.

Wrote my poem about little bugs in the garden. This bug has 6 legs and is very strong. Can you guess what it is?

  1. Hi Ireyln,

It’s Emma here from the Summer Learning Journey.

You have aced this haiku poem. It sounds like how the ant would view the world from its tiny perspective.
Ants are very strong, I have heard they can lift up to ten times their own body weight. That would be the equivalent of us being able to lift ten of ourselves up at once!

Do you know a lot about insects? I love looking for all the butterflies, bees and birds that live in our garden.

Thanks for sharing your poem Irelyn.
